Mardi Gras Mask Makers - Beginners Pottery & Sculpture

Mardi Gras is an excellent time to begin a creative, hands on class.

Introducing hand building sculpture for the novice potter lead by local artist Adrienne Walker.

This 2 week class will be an introduction to clay and the many different forms that can be created other than by using the pottery wheel. Each potter will complete a beautiful face that can hang alone or be used as a  Mardi Gras decoration.

Students will be given a pre-made mask made by Adrienne to glaze, decorate and embellish.

A demonstration on how to prepare clay and techniques on forming a mysterious mask will be covered.

These classes  are formatted to build on technique and develop skills for the emerging potter that wants to pursue the creativity of  hand building and sculpting in clay.
