2019 PONTCHARTRAIN FILM FESTIVAL
Become a Pontchartrain Film Festival sponsor
The PONTCHARTRAIN FILM FESTIVAL was founded in 2011 by the Digital Arts program of the nonprofit Olde Towne Arts Center. It began in Slidell and moved in 2015 to Mandeville. Filmmakers and film fans will enjoy an afternoon and evening screenings of Louisiana made feature and short films and winners of the Louisiana Film Prize. The public can meet filmmakers and people working in the industry, and find out what inspires and challenges them in making films. The City of Mandeville will host the 8th Annual Pontchartrain Film Festival on Nov. 1-2, 2019 as part of a Cooperative Endeavor to provide a community event that encourages emerging filmmakers, creates interaction with the regional film economy and provides educational opportunities. Presented by OTAC's Digital Arts Program, the Pontchartrain Film Festival has become an annual cultural arts event on the north shore. The Pontchartrain Film Festival will allow professional and emerging filmmakers to interact with their audience in an intimate setting,” OTAC Director Charlotte Collins said. “We are grateful for the opportunity to put the spotlight on the area’s growing film industry." With sponsorship and support, the festival can expand its opportunities for hands-on workshops, dialogues and training with filmmakers and year-round film series.
