Single-Session Workshop
Saturday, November 7th
10:00am - 1:00pm

In this 3-hour class, you'll learn the fundamentals of weaving — from warp to weft — while getting a glimpse into the rich history of this craft. Guided by instructor Cecelia Hopes, a fiber artist with over 10 years of experience, who teaches and exhibits her work in galleries throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. You'll learn how to warp a frame loom and build a versatile toolbox of weaving techniques that bring texture, dimension, and pattern to your work. As you weave, you'll experiment with different materials, shapes, textures, and patterns to create a piece that reflects your own creative style. By the end of the class, you'll remove your finished weaving from the loom and transform it into a wall hanging to take home. You'll take home: Your finished wall hanging A small frame loom Weaving tools Yarn to continue your practice Whether you're a total beginner curious about fiber arts or an experienced maker looking to try something new, this workshop offers a welcoming space to learn, create, and be inspired.
