I am a pastelist and consider myself as a colorist. Color really excites me. It is what drives my selection of subjects. It pulls me into a landscape en plein aire or into a set up in my studio.
Still life is my passion. Finding beauty in everyday mundane objects, seeing the different shapes, textures, capturing the lights and shadows; all of these are what excites me to paint.
I feel that I am recording the beauty I see and by the same token I hope the observer sees the same beauty.
