This August, the St. Tammany Art Association in cooperation with Springboard for Artists presents Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists. WOA is a curriculum developed by the Minnesota based nonprofit, Springboard for Artists in an effort to better equip artists and arts organizations with the necessary skills to support their careers and organizations. The workshop was developed to supply creatives and creative supporters with basic business skills that help catapult careers and organizational development. STAA Executive Director, Jennifer Dewey, will be the instructor alongside guest speakers with extensive experience in each of the six fields.

WOA is a 2 part series comprised of 6 classes in each session. Session 1 will begin Wednesday, August 21. All classes take place at the Art House from 6-8pm. Session 1 will cover:

  • Business Plan Essentials

  • Crafting a Portfolio

  • Composing Artist Statements

  • Website Development

  • Marketing & Promotions

  • Social Media Marketing

Social Media Set-up & Tactics
Sharpen your understanding of online brand building through creative marketing strategies and basic web analytics. Platform examples will focus around Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.
