Our Mission

Art makes everything better.

The mission of the St. Tammany Art Association is to provide quality programming and cultural enrichment to the community, to support established artists, promote emerging artists, and produce educational arts related activities for adults and children and in doing so enhance life in St. Tammany Parish.

Our History

The St. Tammany Art Association was founded in 1958 by a small group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to bringing art to western St. Tammany Parish. Today, STAA has grown into an organization with over 300 members. Serving as a catalyst for the arts, the organization’s Art House building in downtown Covington serves the needs of emerging and established artists and provides arts education and exhibitions to the community.

Funding + Support

STAA is supported by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the Office of Cultural Development, and the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs.
