The St. Tammany Art Association was founded in 1958 by a small group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to bringing art to western St. Tammany Parish. They envisioned an organization that would support and grow local arts in the community.

More than 60 years later…

STAA has grown into an organization with over 300 members and supporters. Serving as a catalyst for the arts, the organization’s Art House building in downtown Covington serves the needs of emerging and established artists. STAA provides arts education to artists of all ages and experience levels through a wide variety of media, exhibition opportunities to artist members and visiting artists, and direct community engagement arts market to the community.

The mission of the St. Tammany Art Association is to provide quality programming and cultural enrichment to the community, to support established artists, promote emerging artists, and produce educational arts related activities for adults and children and in doing so enhance life in St. Tammany Parish.

The Art House is open 4 days a week, Wednesday-Friday 10 am-4 pm and Saturday 11 am-4pm. For more information call us at (985)892-8650 or email us at info@sttammany.art.

What our visitors are saying…

Regarding STAA’s Young Artists Studio: ‘I have literally been brought to tears while listening to the excitement and enthusiasm my girls have had every evening when I’ve come home.’

They have a beautiful little gallery. However, it’s their workshops that make the St. Tammany Art Association stand out. Small class sizes with patient and thorough instructors. Their pottery wheel class was especially good.

As a new resident of Covington, Louisiana, my wife and I have visited the St. Tammany Art Association Gallery on a few occasions. It is great to see the unbelievable talents of the local artists that display their art. It is located on historic N. Columbia Street in Covington, Louisiana. It is a walk back in history.
